A diagnosis of pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma can feel isolating and overwhelming — but you are not alone. We are here from day one.
Every Care Kit includes Phearless™ — a zebra stuffed animal created by patient volunteer Karen Horton as a symbol of courage and community. Phearless™ is here to walk beside every newly diagnosed patient from day one.
If you or a loved one has received a pheo/para diagnosis within the past six months, we will mail you a PPA Care Kit — a carefully assembled package that includes:
- Trusted educational resources on pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma
- Information about PPA’s patient and caregiver support programs
- Phearless™, your companion zebra, created by patient volunteer Karen Horton
- Thoughtful extras to support your care and comfort (contents may vary; while supplies last)
Limit one kit per household. Available to individuals diagnosed within the past six months.
Special thanks to Karen Murdock for volunteering to lead the management of our newly diagnosed care kit program, and to Patricia Horton for her foundational support. As Karen steps down from managing the kits, we welcome Jenifer Hunt, who has already been foundational in this program. Jenifer will take over management and fulfillment to ensure our newly diagnosed community members continue to receive this vital support.
