Multi-Disciplinary Review of Medical Records

For pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma patients

The National Cancer Institute, NCI, is offering patients diagnosed with pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma a multi-disciplinary review of medical records and subsequent recommendation regarding treatment options. This is an opportunity to get an expert, second opinion.

“We know that many NET patients cannot travel to see specialists and we want them to have the best guidance and care possible,” says Jaydira Del Rivero, MD, Director of the Center for Cancer Research Neuroendocrine Tumor Program at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. “By offering to review the medical records and scans of NET patients, we are giving them the benefit of the experience and expertise of physicians who best know this uncommon cancer.”

Please note, the NCI can only review records for those who have received a pheo or para diagnosis confirmed through metanephrine testing or imaging.  Reviews will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis once all documents are received.  Turnaround time varies based on caseload.

To find out how to submit medical records, please contact Dr. Del Rivero at jaydira.delrivero@nih.gov and mention that you learned about the opportunity through Pheo Para Alliance.
