Description
The Pheo Para Alliance is honored to host a distinguished international faculty for a high-level educational webinar dedicated to head and neck paragangliomas (HNPGLs)—a rare and complex subset of paraganglioma that requires specialized clinical expertise and multidisciplinary care.
Bringing together two of the world’s leading authorities in skull base surgery and paraganglioma care, Professor Mario Sanna and Dr. Susan Richter will share their clinical insights and decades of experience treating these highly specialized tumors. Their presentations will address the unique diagnostic, surgical, and long-term management considerations that distinguish HNPGLs from adrenal and extra-adrenal pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma (PPGL).
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of current best practices in imaging, surgical innovation, cranial nerve preservation, and long-term surveillance strategies.
Topics will include:
• How head and neck tumors differ from other pheo/para tumors
• Advances in imaging and surgical techniques
• Cranial nerve preservation and functional outcomes
• When observation may be appropriate
• Lifelong monitoring and recurrence risk
A moderated Q&A session led by Dr. Karel Pacak will follow to address patient and caregiver questions directly. Our amazing patient voice, Lacey Koelling, will share her lived experience navigating diagnosis, treatment decisions, and recovery.
