Dr. Emmanuel Gabriel
Dr. Manny Gabriel is an Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic in Florida. He specializes in surgical oncology, including adrenal tumors. He is active in research with NIH funding and studies tumor vessels and drug delivery.
Teena Price
Teena Price is a caregiver whose mother was diagnosed with an abdominal paraganglioma in 2015. Her mother was subsequently found to have a SDHB mutation, that Teena’s and several family member carry. Teena is a Veterinary Pathologist at Veterinary Diagnostics (VDx), in Davis, CA, working in both the diagnostic pathology service and preclinical research. She has two young boys, a dog, and two cats, and loves hiking and being outdoors with her family.
Layla Adrianovska
Layla Adrianovska is a pheochromocytoma patient from Toronto, Canada. She is a current student of a Master of Applied Health Sciences program at Western University. Being diagnosed shortly after her 19th birthday, Layla aims to bring awareness to the barriers that younger pheo and para patients may face.
Shonna Snyder, PhD
Shonna Snyder is a paraganglioma patient. She earned her Ph.D. in Health and Kinesiology from Purdue University, and is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). She is a co-author of the text Core Teaching Practices for Health Education, and currently works as a Research Scientist for The Mast Cell Disease Society. Her professional interests and research are in the areas of professional preparation and development of health teachers, school health education, adolescent health issues, and most recently, rare diseases and the patient perspective.
